Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long is a typical charter?

A typical charter lasts from 6-8 hours, however we do not put a time limit on our charters.  We bring you out and try to give you the most enjoyable charter possible.  On some charters you may have a limit of fish and be done  early, on other charters the fishing may be a little tougher and you may be out until later in afternoon.  We do what it takes to make sure that you have a good experience.

Q: What happens if there is bad weather on the day of my charter?

Due to our location on the coast some weather can be forecasted and other weather appears seemingly out of no where.  If the weather is forecasted to be adverse for the day of your charter your captain will contact you in advance of your charter to discuss the weather.  If the weather appears, your captain will discuss the conditions with you on the day of your charter.  We try to make all charters happen on their scheduled days if at all possible.  If the weather is a safety concern the captain will cancel the charter.  All deposits will be moved to the next mutually agreeable date.

Q: What kind of license do I need?

You can purchase a $10 3-day Charter pass from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries website, 1-888-765-2602 or at a store on your way to Venice.  Please note that the marina DOES NOT sell licenses.

Q: Do you do half day charters?

We do not do half day charters.  All charters are considered a whole day and are charged at those prices. When you book a charter, your group is the focus of our day.  We do not want to rush you in to pick up another group.

Q: How many people can you accomodate?

We can accomodate parties of any size.  We have a 24' boat that can hold up to 4 people and a 26' boat that can hold up to 5 people. If your party is larger than 9 people, we have a network of reputable guides that we can book for you to accomodate your party.

Q: What do we need to bring?

You need to bring a license, weather appropriate clothing, sun protection, drinks, food and any other personal needs.  We provide everything else that has to do with fishing.

Whenever you have a day off.  Our redfishing is good 365 days a year.  If you are interested Trout, you can expect to catch them from March to November.

Q: Should we bring our own tackle?

There is no need to bring your own tackle as we have high-end and well-maintained tackle that is suited to our type of fishing.  However, if you really want to fish with your equipment you are welcome to, but there is a limit of one rod/reel per person.

Q: Where should I stay when I'm in Venice?

We recommend the Lighthouse Lodge or any of the facilites at Venice Marina.

Q: Can I get a discount if I book multiple days?
